We are using design and co-creation to bridge the gap between budget cuts in public services and the people who use them.
First Stop: St Pauls Learning & Family Centre in Bristol
Kate Murray, Head of Libraries for Bristol, describes the project:
"The St Pauls Learning & Family Centre is part of Bristol Libraries run and managed by Bristol City Council. The Council supports the programme of activities and services run from the building and works with learning partners to deliver courses and adult learning. This St. Pauls Conversation is about finding out what customers, staff and the community think is working well, could be improved and how the future might develop.” Kate Murray
St Pauls Learning and Family Centre needs people from the area to help them develop services for the future.
On Saturday 19th March between 10am - 4pm at the St Pauls Learning & Family Centre there will be a fun, free, hands-on day where people from the area, members of the council, staff and designers can talk to each other and create new services.
The Learning & Family Centre already has some amazing facilities like the crèche, library, cafe, computer rooms, there’s even a dark room, but it is time to widen the use of the centre. What could you be using if for and how could you make it a reality?
Even if you can only drop in for half an hour, please come and share your ideas with the groups working to create new local services. They will need your help.
Local services must be tailored to their communities. Come and help create yours.
